What We Believe

Let's be honest, club sports and specifically club/travel baseball has developed a reputation for high costs, relentless pressure, over-coaching, over-parenting and a win at all costs mentality. Cultures such as these drain the fun and joy from the game and replace it with burnout, confusion and stress.

At SBC, we believe there is a better way, and our Coaches, Board and Player Development Coordinators are working to flip that script on its head.

Development over Ring Chasing

Instead of burning out young arms, or playing the same positions all season, we prioritize long term health and versatile skill sets. We play to win every game we play, but never at the expense of player health or development. For example, we expect all players to learn to pitch as a 60%+ strike rate, which saves arms, provides opportunities and increases our chances on Tournament Sundays.

Releasing Players to the Game

At SBC, we replace the "fear of failure" with the "freedom to compete". You will see a noticeable lack of in-game coaching from our staffs; this is by design. We believe that coaching happens in practice and scrimmages and that the games are owned by the players. By encouraging our teams to play free and with 100% effort.....we find the boys play smarter, faster and better.

Fun vs Winning

We believe that choosing between having fun or winning games is a false choice and we reject it completely. Winning is a byproduct of a healthy and aligned culture. This is The Spartan Way.

There is nothing more fun that being part of a disciplined, successful team. We achieve this by working together with great ATTITUDES, outworking the competition with EFFORT and our players knowing their ASSIGNMENT on every play.

Our Story

In 2008, a group of parents whose children shared a passion for baseball met to explore ideas to nurture their children's love of the game and satisfy a need for more competitive play and skill development. The Sammamish Baseball Club was formed in 2009 to offer young athletes an opportunity to learn from experienced coaches, access year-round practice opportunities, enjoy baseball, and engage in the highest levels of baseball competition.
